MENTORSHIP / WORK EXPERIENCE  PROGRAMME

 

If you are looking for a “real world” business experience combined with accelerating your learning while immersing yourself in the English language and the vocabulary of the world of work then join us now.

 

This intensive course 30 hour per week course is a combination of English classes, business English / skills training, work experience, career development and project work.

 

Maximum 8 students.

 

All classes will be in our community training centre.

This programme is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of the world of work and business. You will work closely with us to ensure you rapidly increase your level of spoken English. It is also a great opportunity to add valuable work experience to your CV / resume.

 

Students should have a minimum spoken level of Lower-Intermediate English and be working towards B2 – Cambridge First Certificate English Examinations OR be in a closed group at intermediate or advanced level.

 

THE MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME INCLUDES

 

10 hours per week

English classes – closed group.

Lower intermediate – Intermediate – Advanced.

 

5 hours per week

On line “ English for Work” course and business skills training

 

10 hours per week – Work experience tasks – supervised support

 

5 hours per week  – Career development workshops  – Personal Project.

 

SOME OF THE TASKS YOU WILL BE TRAINED TO DO IN ORDER TO GAIN THE MOST FROM YOUR WORK EXPERIENCE TASKS

 INCLUDE :

  • Translating e-mails and documents.
  • Producing quality facebook posts.
  • Internet marketing using google ads and facebook promotions.
  • Presentation skills and techniques.
  • Producing posters and flyers.
  • Customer service skills and techniques.
  • Dealing with complaints.
  • Liaise with prospective partners and agents.
  • Cold calling techniques. Business to business.
  • Increasing your knowledge of Liverpool regarding accommodation, transport,  tourism, hospitality, jobs and the business sector.
  • Updating our “What’s on in Liverpool guide”.
  • Scripting, planning and making videos to promote tourism in Liverpool and our business.
  • Sales and marketing skills.
  • Negotiating skills
  • Produce your own vlog – video reflective diary.
  • Video editing software training.
  • Various administration tasks using a range of IT software.

 

An essential part of the Mentorship Programme is focussing on

your own wider personal development to prepare you for the

world of work or your next career move.

Four students will live with us – Alan and Jan. We also have a network of

local homestay hosts to accommodate additional students.

 

We know from experience that many students may wish to come to Liverpool with their husband/wife, partner, family relative or friends.

A “GUEST” is a person who is not studying at the “HOUSE OF PROFESSIONAL ENGLISH”.
